Respected academic and Scarsdale alum David Scobey (class of '72) has recently overseen a major reorganization at the New School, combining the New School for General Studies and Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy into the The New School for Public Engagement, a multi-disciplinary department that handles International Affairs, Foreign Languages, Media Studies and Creative Writing with a distinct hands-on approach.
Barbara Kopple's New Documentary Premieres At Woodstock Film Festival
Academy Award winning Scarsdale High School alum Barbara Kopple (class of 1964) will be premiering her new documentary A Force of Nature at the 2011 Woodstock Film Festival held this month. Her latest film follows Ellen Ratner, a journalist whose passion leads her to the American South after Hurricane Katrina and South Sudan after years of violence to help those most in need.
Remembering Peter Alderman (Class of 1994) September 11, 2001
Peter Alderman, Scarsdale High School Class of 1994, was killed on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. Next Sunday, September 11, 2001 there will be a screening of the full-length documentary Love Hate Love in The Bendheim Performing Arts Center at the JCC of Mid-Westchester.
