It’s graduation time around the country, and our fellow alum Richard Stengel (SHS Class of ‘73) was recently called in to offer some advice to another group of alums, the Wheaton College class of 2011.

Brewster Kahle (SHS Class of '78) has recently been profiled for his efforts to backup the backups of our digital culture. Kahle is best known as the founder of the Internet Archive, which takes snapshots of the web and is engaged in one of the world’s most extensive book digitization projects.

Congratulations to Judy Cheng-Hopkins (SHS Class of '70) for being named one of the 10 Most Powerful Women at the UN by Forbes. Cheng-Hopkins was appointed as Assistant Secretary-General of Peacebuilding Support by Ban Ki-moon in 2009.

UBELONG cofounder Cedric Hodgeman (SHS ’00), Sanskruti Mehta (SHS ’00) and Ricardo Garcia (SHS ’97) are organizing an exciting trip for fellow Scarsdale Alumni to attend with their significant others/friends.  We are going to Cusco, Peru to do great  volunteer work for a week and then hike the Inca trail to experience the sunrise in Machu Picchu! We invite you to read all about the trip in this page and let us know if you are interested in joining us. The Scarsdale alumni community  mourns the loss of veteran diplomat, and fellow alumnus Ambassador Richard Holbrooke. Richard Holbrooke SHS '58 was in our first "class" of Distinguished Alumni, named in 2005.
