Judy Cheng-Hopkins Recognized by Forbes

Congratulations to Judy Cheng-Hopkins (SHS Class of '70) for being named one of the 10 Most Powerful Women at the UN by Forbes. Cheng-Hopkins was appointed as Assistant Secretary-General of Peacebuilding Support by Ban Ki-moon in 2009.

Of course, this is just one more accolade for a woman who has already had a remarkable career at the UN. She spent three years supervising all activities at the UNHCR, the UN's refugee agency, and has worked with the UN Development Programme and World Food Programme as well.

We're all proud of what our fellow alums can do, we even named her as one of our Distinguished Alums back in 2007, but in this case Cheng-Hopkins' achievement was reported throughout the Malaysian press she is the first Malaysian to be honored by Forbes in this way.
