It has been an honor to serve as the President of the Scarsdale Alumni Association. I greatly enjoyed getting to know so many fellow alumni across the country and around the world. It was an incredible honor to work alongside Mr. Rothschild, with one of my fondest memories being our work together evaluating nominations for the Distinguished Alumni ceremony. He had ten incredible stories for each of the nominees - high school stories and stories from decades after - since many of his students always kept in touch. He was a gifted historian who could paint a picture full of color to perfectly express the feeling of time and place in our country. It would take us sometimes two hours to evaluate five candidates, but I would not have wanted it any other way!
Over the past few months, as we prepared for the transition to elect a new President of the Scarsdale Alumni Association, we received many nominations of very impressive alumni.
I'm very glad to announce that Zachary Harrison (SHS 1991) has been elected by the board to be the next president.
He has been a high achiever throughout his years at SHS and beyond (UPenn, Fordham Law). He also proved to himself that he could work with the top companies in the world, before deciding to build his own business. This year, the real estate company he built with his wife Heather over the past couple of years, was acquired by one of the biggest international leaders in the industry. While his professional achievements are incredibly impressive, the most important quality about Zach is his passion for the community. He a resident of Scarsdale and an active local leader. I look forward to supporting Zach and his many great initiatives for the Scarsdale Alumni Association!
Best,
