Douglas Rushkoff (SHS 1979)

DOCUMENTARIAN, AUTHOR, TEACHER, PUBLIC INTELLECTUAL

After graduation from Scarsdale High School, Rushkoff earned his BA at Princeton University magna cum laude and then a masters in fine arts in Directing from the California Institute for the Arts. Today he teaches at the N.Y.U. Interactive Telecommunications Program. He also has taught online for the MaybeLogic Academy. He has written eleven books including How the World Became a Corporation and how to take it Back.

He has also produced documentaries including Life Inc. The Movie, and is now working on a new project Digital Nation, Life on the Virtual Frontier

Among the awards earned by Rushkoff include the Marshall McLuhan Award and the Neil Postman Award for Career Achievement.
