Today Nancy F. Atlas is listed among the highest-rated federal trial judges in her division. After Scarsdale High School, where she thrived academically, Atlas earned a B.S. degree from Tufts University and a J.D. degree from New York University School of law.

After her graduate school years, Atlas worked as a commercial litigator in New York City and then as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York.
Houston, Texas beckoned and Atlas went to work in a 70- lawyer firm often calling for
mediation of commercial disputes.
