Anyhow those bright scientific minds have been doing all the slog so you don't have to. A new study has found that walking backwards can improve your short-term memory.

Tovah Feldshuh (SHS '66) Will Star in Bay Street Theater’s The Prompter

Four-time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Walking Dead, Golda’s Balcony) will star in the Bay Street Theater's world premiere of Wade Dooley’s The Prompter, the first show of the 2019 Mainstage Season.

Helmed by Bay Street Artistic Director Scott Schwartz, performances are scheduled for May 28–June 16. Playwright Dooley (Jersey Boys) will co-star.

WISE GUYS: Johanna Fateman on the art of Nicole Eisenman (SHS '83)

One morning in February, Nicole Eisenman introduces me to the enormous plaster guys in her studio. Guys is her word; she clarifies right away that she means it in a gender-neutral sense. The first one we look at sits sideways, legs crossed at the ankle, on the back of another who’s on all fours, head down, hands and knees planted resolutely to form a stable seat. The sitting guy’s big palms are outstretched in a beatific pose; they (singular) have a diamond-shaped thatch of wormlike hair growing from their flat chest, and nothing definitive at their crotch.

Don't Miss Deadwood: Reunion Movie Premiere - Executive producer Carolyn Strauss (SHS 1981)

This town is a sanctuary.” HBO just released the premiere date and a new teaser for their upcoming Deadwood movie.

The TV movie will be a follow-up to the HBO series, which ended in 2006. Returning cast members include Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, Paula Malcolmson, Kim Dickens, Brad Dourif, Anna Gunn, and John Hawkes.

Barbara Kopple (SHS '64) to exec produce Maria Finitzo’s “The Dilemma of Desire”

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barbara Kopple is to executive produce a forthcoming feature-length documentary film that advocates for the democratization of sexual pleasure.

Helmed by Peabody Award-winning director Maria Finitzo and Chicago production outfit Kartemquin Films, The Dilemma of Desire will explore the “clash between the power of gender politics and the equally powerful imperatives of female sexual desire.”
