We just have received the sad news that Eric Rothschild has passed away. A member of the Scarsdale High School class of 1954, Eric was regarded highly for his work as a longtime history teacher at the high school, arriving there to teach in 1964. Eric served as chair of the High School Social Social Studies Department from 1973 to 1998.

In addition to his many professional accomplishments, Eric found the time to play an active role in Scarsdale community organizations, serving on numerous boards and committees, and as Village historian. His exceptional contribution to the life in Scarsdale was recognized in 2007 with his selection as the recipient of the Scarsdale Foundation' s Scarsdale Bowl Award.

The family will be sitting shiva and receiving guests on Monday, November 5, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, at Adam and Kathy Rothschild's home, 76 Overlook Drive, Chappaqua, NY. We understand that Eric's family is planning a memorial after Thanksgiving, details to be forthcoming.
